Sermons / Pray for the Harvest

Sharing faith starts with prayer for people and workers. Luke 10:2 (ESV) — “And he said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” Jesus looked at the world and saw a plentiful harvest (people ready to receive hope) but too few workers willing to go. His first instruction was to pray earnestly. Prayer reminds us that the harvest belongs to God. He prepares hearts, opens doors, and gives power to those He sends. When we pray for more workers, we should also be willing for God to answer by sending us. You do not have to reach everyone, but you can faithfully love, pray for, and speak to the people God has already placed around you. Who has God already placed in your life for you to pray for and point toward Jesus? Prayer Prompt: Lord of the harvest, send workers into Your harvest and make me willing to go wherever You lead. Next Step — Make God Known: Write down three names, pray for their hearts to be open to Jesus, and ask God for an opportunity to speak with one of them this week. In today's video: Johnny McGuire
