The Problem With Unspoken Expectations | Colossians 3:12-17
Why do relationships fall apart over things that seem so small? Sometimes the problem isn’t what someone did—it’s what we expected them to do without ever saying it.
Unspoken expectations can quietly create frustration, disappointment, resentment, and distance in marriages, friendships, families, and even the workplace. So how do we build healthier relationships when we don’t always know what the other person expects?
Colossians 3 points us toward a different way of relating to people—one shaped by humility, patience, forgiveness, love, and the peace of Christ. Instead of demanding that others meet our expectations, Jesus invites us to examine our own hearts, seek clarity, and reconsider what we’re bringing into our relationships.
If you’ve ever felt misunderstood or disappointed by someone you love, take some time to watch, reflect, and explore what Jesus has to say about building better relationships.
