Hoe do you respond to difficult circumstances and challenging people?
Everybody gets impatient. And our impatience often leads to anger. We get frustrated in traffic, irritated with our spouse, impatient with our children, and offended by people who hurt us. At times, we excuse it by saying, “That's just how I am.” But what if our impatience and anger are revealing something much deeper? As we continue our Fruitful series today, we’ll discover why patience is one of the clearest marks of a Spirit-filled life. Patience is far more than just learning to wait well. It is the Holy Spirit’s power to respond to difficult people and painful situations with the same grace that Christ has shown us. In Ephesians 4:26-32, the Apostle Paul reveals what happens when we fail to exercise patience in our Christian walk. An unchecked heart of impatience will lead to destructive anger. Our response to anger can either destroy relationships or become an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to produce patience, that transforms our hearts and builds others up.
